Seats and coaches in each class, by train
Enter a train number and this page lists the classes that train actually runs, how many coaches of each, and how many seats those coaches hold. The rake is read from our live data provider, not guessed from the train's type.
Look up a train
Five digits. The answer is the rake our live data provider reports for that train — how many coaches of each class it runs, and how many seats those coaches hold.
What the class codes mean
Which of these a particular train runs depends on its rake, which is why the lookup above asks the provider rather than guessing from the train’s type. What you actually get in each class goes through them one by one.

These are the seats and berths the coaches hold. How many are free on a date is a different question, and a live one: the availability checker answers that, with the IST minute it was fetched. A rake can also change without notice, and a train can run a shortened formation on a given day.
